Herbal Medicine Treatments

Tried other treatments that didn’t work? We get results where others have failed!

At the clinic we utilise the knowledge of both Eastern and Western herbal practices. For over 40 years we have applied this knowledge to support people to regain their optimal health.

Herbal medicine involves the use of plants, plant extracts, and botanical substances for therapeutic purposes. Its foundation lies in harnessing the medicinal properties of various herbs to address specific health issues, drawing on a combination of traditional knowledge and scientific understanding.

Chinese herbal medicine is a cornerstone of traditional Chinese medicine, utilising a vast array of plant-based substances to restore balance and harmony within the body’s energetic pathways.

Grounded in centuries-old principles, Chinese herbal medicine uses specific herbal formulations tailored to individual patterns of disharmony, aiming to address both the symptoms and root causes of health imbalances.

Herbal medicine is used to treat millions of people around the world for most health problems.

Herbal medicine provides daily support for your body, offering a natural way to promote healing. Chinese herbal formulas have been tested and refined over thousands of years, and they can be safely used by both children and adults.

These herbal formulas can be specifically tailored to meet individual needs and are effective in treating both acute and chronic conditions while supporting the body’s natural healing processes.

As Western herbal medicine continues to evolve with the latest scientific advancements, your formula can be adjusted to ensure the best possible results.

Chinese herbal medicine is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, emphasising the use of herbal formulations to restore balance and harmony within the body’s energy, known as Qi.

Western herbal medicine draws from a diverse range of herbal traditions, incorporating plants from various cultures to address specific health concerns through the therapeutic properties of botanical substances.

In herbal medicine, diagnosis involves a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s health, considering physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors to identify imbalances.

Practitioners use this information to tailor specific herbal formulations that address the root causes of health issues and support the body’s natural healing processes.

In herbal medicine, individuals may experience varying responses to treatment, with some showing rapid improvements, while others exhibit a more gradual recovery.

It is common for most people to observe positive changes in their overall health after their initial herbal treatment.

The outcomes of herbal medicine treatment often vary, with individuals experiencing improvements in specific health concerns and overall well-being.

Success may manifest through alleviation of symptoms, enhanced vitality, and the restoration of balance in the body’s natural functions.

Herbal medicine serves as a valuable resource for addressing a wide range of general health issues. Drawing on the medicinal properties of various plants and herbs, it offers a natural and holistic approach to support overall well-being.

Herbal Medicine: Frequently Asked Questions

Herbal medicine, also known as herbalism or phytotherapy, involves using plant-based substances such as leaves, roots, seeds, and flowers for medicinal purposes.

It draws on the healing properties of herbs to promote health and address various ailments.

Herbal medicine works through the active compounds present in plants, which can have therapeutic effects on the body.

These compounds may interact with biological processes, providing relief from symptoms, supporting the body’s natural healing mechanisms, and addressing underlying imbalances.

While herbal medicine is generally considered safe when used appropriately, it is crucial to consult with a qualified healthcare professional or herbalist.

Some herbs may interact with medications or have contraindications for certain health conditions. It’s essential to provide a comprehensive health history for personalised guidance.

Herbal remedies can be prepared in various forms, including teas, tinctures, capsules, and topical applications.

The preparation method depends on the specific herb and the desired therapeutic effect. Herbal teas and tinctures are common methods for internal use, while salves and creams are applied topically for skin conditions.

In many cases, herbal medicine can complement conventional treatments. However, it is important to inform healthcare providers about all herbs and supplements being used, as certain interactions may occur.

Collaboration between herbalists and conventional healthcare professionals can provide integrated and comprehensive care.

While herbs are generally well-tolerated, some individuals may experience side effects or allergic reactions.

It’s important to start with small doses and monitor for any adverse reactions.

Chinese Herbal Medicine often emphasises the use of herbal combinations to address patterns of disharmony within the body, as identified through traditional Chinese diagnostic methods, such as pulse and tongue examination.
