Our treatments are designed to help you feel better while you get better

1. Enquiry & Booking

We understand that if you have a chronic, complex or persistent issue you might have tried a few things already. This is why we offer a Free 15 mins consultation so you can have questions answered and make sure you feel confident in our approach.

2. Pre-Appointment

Our reception staff will send you our pre-appointment intake form to get basic details about your situation, and how to get to the clinic. On arrival at the clinic you’ll be greeted by one of our reception staff.

3. Consultation

Initial consultations are slightly longer than follow up consults. This ensures we get a clear idea of what you need from your treatment, and what will support you during it.

4. Assessment

Your assessment will include a physical examination, and observation of movement or function of the area. We may also consider blood testing or similar. If you are receiving Acupuncture, massage or FSM, we would also conduct a post-treatment assessment to check the level of change from the session.

5. Treatment

Your treatment will differ depending on the modality you’ve chosen. Your practitioner will describe what to expect, how the treatment works, and anticipated results.

6. Recovery Plan

At your initial consult your therapist will explain a treatment plan to best support your recovery. The plan will be based on the therapist’s experience treating pain and injury, and what is considered the fastest way to get you pain-free.

7. Post-Appointment

The more time you have to absorb the change after a treatment the better. We appreciate you have a life to get back to, but if you can – don’t rush! You’re welcome to sit on the deck looking at our tree with a glass of water.

8. Support and Advice

Our ultimate goal is for you to help yourself and we hope coming to the clinic will be a life changing experience. We will share our knowledge with you as best we can so you can feel empowered and take back control of your health. If you have any questions please ask.

Complex or chronic pain and injury

A systematic approach to resolving the underlying issues causing your pain, while stimulating the body to rehabilitate injuries naturally

Pain is a warning sign from the body signalling that a need is not being met. It can originate from inflammation, physical or emotional trauma, or structural issues.

Why it starts is not why it stays. With complex and chronic pain there is a process the body goes through to get stuck in a constant state of discomfort. We don’t just wake up with Chronic pain (although in some cases it can appear that way) there is a process which gets us there.

Pain stems from the body trying to adapt or problem-solve a crisis. If the issue isn’t resolved there can be layer upon layer of crisis-management built up. The body gets to a point where it gets stuck and uses pain to get attention to change what is going on.

The whole body needs to be involved and allowed to engage in the healing process.

When looking for a solution for chronic and complex injuries it is important to be led by the body, and it becomes a whole body issue. Physical, emotional and mental.

Because problem-solving has happened through crisis management, if the system isn’t supportive of the change it will feel under threat and react, stopping the process of healing.

From the body’s perspective, healing is an optional extra. If the body isn’t supported to move towards a healing state, what you want and what the body wants doesn’t match and the net result is no change.

Client Journey

“I’ve had injuries and horrible pain for many years. I tried every type of treatment, therapy and medication you could imagine with limited success. After receiving acupuncture treatments from Joel this year I have improved significantly.”

Overview

A history of Chronic pain following multiple car accidents, broken jaw and significant trauma.

The pain affected sleep, emotional state, quality of life and overall energy. Had tried different modalities over a number of years with little to no change.

Assessment

Acupuncture-style assessment for an overview of the body’s systems: structure, nervous system and trauma in the body.

The assessment was redone each session to assess progress independent of symptoms.

Client feedback was also used to assess progress and areas where the body was getting stuck in the change process.

Treatment

Combination of Acupuncture, Moxibustion and FSM.

The process follows a body/system-led approach which rates crisis in the system as the priority. As you clear the crisis the body can start to heal. The focus is to clear layers of trauma and crisis in a systematic approach, enabled by reading the body.

Outcome

Significant improvement in overall pain and discomfort.

Positive changes in mental health with huge leaps in general outlook.

We use traditional techniques with modern methods to treat pain and rehabilitate injury naturally

A Multifaceted Approach to Treating Pain and Injury

Natural therapies combined with proven treatments backed by science and clinical studies

Untitled 1
Acupuncture

Acupuncture looks at all pain as a blockage of the body’s natural flow. When there is no movement of energy (dull pain)  / blood (sharp pain) / water, lymphatic (ache) pain follows. Acupuncture is used to help the natural movement to return so the pain can be resolved.

Untitled 1
Herbal Medicine

The different actions of the herbs are combined to support your body’s functions to reduce inflammation and pain sensation. As it is something you can do daily it can be a very good tool to support consistent change.

Untitled 1
Naturopathy

Utilises foods, herbs, minerals and supplements to help the body recover from pain and injury. It looks at what the body is deficient in, to effectively deal with what is driving pain.

Untitled 1
Massage

Massage can help relieve the sensation of pain, and support the body in releasing old patterns and old injuries to create better function.

Untitled 1
Intuitive Energy Therapy

Can focus on the underlying energetic, emotional or mental blocks that are stopping the body from healing itself.

Untitled 1
Frequency Specific Microcurrent

Can be a powerful tool to support the body’s natural healing processes, by reducing the pain sensation and inflammation.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pain and Injury Rehabilitation

If you need more information please contact us

Our practitioners are experienced in Acupuncture, as well as natural / herbal medicine, nutrition and massage.

Pain and injuries are all different. They can often be treated simply, using one discipline; a series of Acupuncture appointments, for example.

It’s not uncommon for your treatment plan to include more than one approach, if we believe this will get long-lasting results faster and/or more efficiently.

Yes it can. We have had lots of experience supporting people with pain.

Results are individualised and one of our practitioners can help tailor a specific treatment plan for you.

Each session we are looking and expecting change.

How long will depend on your specific case but we have the expectation of getting you fast changes with lasting results.

Yes. It has been tested for hundreds to thousands of years all over the world.

Any products we use at the clinic have been TGA-approved and are of the highest quality.

Herbs such as turmeric are well known to support pain change.

However the best pain killer is what your body needs to resolve the pain which can be different for each person. Especially if the pain is chronic and persistent.

Healing is an optional extra for the body. If the right minerals, blood flow or state are not available then healing is limited.

Having expert support can help get to the bottom of what your body needs to heal and recover.

This can depend on the person and their particular situation.

We aim to totally remedy your chronic pain or injury. Communication with your practitioner is the key, you can help us to heal you by providing open, honest and regular feedback.

Each session will be assessed for its beneficial change. Some people need more, some need fewer to get the outcome they are looking for.

As a general rule we say 6 sessions is considered a course of treatment.

$97.00 – $160.00 depending on the practitioner and type of appointment.

We have HICAPS so your private health fund may cover some of the cost.

Please contact your health fund for more information.
